Another Meat Sandwich?

A friend from Pleasant Hill came to visit Jason and I. Actually, more so Jason, since they wanted to play video games. Sigh, boys...

He brought some ball tip steak sandwiches from Kinder's. I just ate a large pastrami sandwich, so I wasn't that hungry, but had a few bites. Thesandwich was as good as I remembered, but I was full from all the meat and didn't want to eat another meaty sandwich for awhile.

Steak Sandwich

I needed to go to shopping in the East Bay, so we stopped by Kinder's in Pleasant Hill for some lunch. The last time I was there (see post), I ordered the combo, so this time around, I clearly knew not to order it.

Again, I ordered their famous ball tip steak sandwich. It's never disappointing and the more sauce you have, the better!

I also bought a bottle of their sauce. I'm not sure what I'll use it with yet, but I'm sure whatever I use it on, it'd be delicious!

The Go-to Place: Kinder's

Kinder's. For 10 years, I lived a little over a mile and went to school only 2 minutes away from Kinder's Meats. All the jocks and kids from high school raved about the place and for some reason, I was just not that into it. I didn't understand what was so good about it.

And then, years later, after I move 45 minutes away, I suddenly appreciate it. I appreciate it so much that we'd drive all the way back home for the sandwich.

90% of Kinder's patrons order their famous ball tip steak sandwich ($7). Thin slices of steak are sandwiched in between a perfect-looking soft roll and vegetables. A squeeze bottle filled with their award winning sauce is at each table. You can literally drench your sandwich in that sauce and it'd still be good. You can never get enough. It is so darn good! The sweet, tangy sauce is what truly makes the sandwich delicious. It is AMAZING.

Each sandwich comes with a drink and thinking I was really hungry, I made it a combo. The combo comes with potato salad and a cup of chili. Don't get the combo! Two reasons. One being the sides aren't even that good. The potato salad has too much mustard and the chili doesn't have enough flavor. And two, the sandwich itself will fill you up. I could barely finish the entire thing!

Give Kinder's a try. There are several locations around the Bay Area and even Reno, home of the Nugget Rib Cook Off. If you ever go try the ball tip sandwich, please bring me back a bottle of their BBQ sauce. ;)
