Turkey Day with Friends

Finally getting around to posting...sorry! Been super busy with work!

As mentioned in my previous post, my third Thanksgiving celebration was with my friends at Kate's. We had hot pot, which was a great Thanksgiving dinner alternative. Although, Kate did pull out some leftover turkey for us. :)

It's also very easy. Simply boil some broth and you're done! It was yummy, as always. I love hot pot. It's best when you have a ton of people to share it with.

For dessert, my friend, Kevin, brought two cheesecakes from the Cheesecake Factory. One was plain while the other was oreo - my favorite! He decided to put them together and we drizzled some cranberries on top....it was decadent, to say the least.

Overall, all my Thanksgiving celebrations were fun. But, one celebration I missed this year was cooking with my friend, Michele. We usually have a party at her house and we cook dinner together for all our friends. It's always fun cooking for people. Good thing she's having a Christmas party. ;) Which reminds me, I need to think of a dish or two to make...

Turkey Day

And so it was turkey day - the biggest food day of the year. I attended a total of three celebrations and only took a few pictures. ARGH. What was I thinking? Obviously, not thinking about this awesome blog! :P I was way too focused on the food!

Day before, the 26th was my brother's birthday (hence the bday cake). I bought him a yummy chestnut mousse cake from Cafe Madeline. So moist and delicious. My dad made a feast that included a large 29 pounder. The turkey leg was enormous! Other dishes accompanying the turkey wer rice, barbecued pork, garlic shrimp, corn and sweet potatoes.

My dad had cooked another 26 pounder (picture 8 & 9) for the next day (my parents are excessive) that was yet, another feast at my friend's house. The feast included mac & cheese, corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, fennel and celery salad, vegetable curry and bread.

Third day, went to my friend, Kate's house, which I did NOT forget my camera. And you'll read about in the next post. ;)
